PD Cheat Sheet

When signing on shift, log onto your radio, give your call sign and name. Ask for a “comms check” - Other officers on duty will acknowledge your status on duty.

State 0 - Emergency - Immediate assistance required
State 1 - On Duty
State 2 - On Patrol 

State 3 - At Police Station 

State 4 - Going for a break 

State 5 - On Scene 

State 6 - At H

Section 1

Stop and search powers - people & vehicles if you have reasonable ground for suspecting a crime

Search warrants - must be to seize evidence (indictable offences only - must be an imprisonable offence)

Power to arrest without warrant if bail is breached (extension of bail must be granted by high authority in police.. minimum Insp, preferably a "duty officer" of Supt, Chief Supt level)

Power to search an arrested person in the custody suite for officer safety reasons as well as members of the public entering the police station

Section 60 

Stop and Search without reasonable suspicion if violence is anticipated. I.e if an increase in knife crime, the chief can activate Section 60 which will allow officers to "turn over" anyone who within a set period of time granted to search for weapons off any person due to increase in crime.
